About

Hi, my name is Sara Rae

I'm a Clinical Associate in Applied Psychology (CAAP), and I specialise in supporting people through Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Over the past ten years, I've worked within the NHS Psychology service, for charitable organisations, and in the private sector as both a life coach and, more recently, a therapist.  Helping people has always been a big part of who I am.

I am truly passionate about helping people find their way forward, and I'd be honoured to walk alongside you as you take steps toward the life you want and deserve.

How I Work

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, so my priority is to make you feel comfortable and supported from the very beginning. I work in a collaborative way, which means we’ll explore things together at a pace that feels right for you. I believe that therapy works best when it feels like a partnership. I bring professional expertise and you bring expertise in your own experiences.

I use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), an evidence-based approach that looks at the connection between our thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. Together, we’ll make sense of the challenges you’re facing and find practical strategies that can help you move forward. I also draw on third-wave approaches such as mindfulness-based strategies, Compassion-focused Therapy (CFT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), allowing me to adapt therapy to suit your goals and values rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.

I believe therapy should feel like a safe, non-judgmental space where you can talk openly, build confidence, and discover new ways of coping. I’ll always meet you with compassion, understanding, and a genuine belief in your ability to make positive change.
